Product Lifecycle Management
It has always been Quantum's endeavour to provide the latest in technology and products. It is not our policy to discontinue ICs, however we may choose to improve them in ways that are usually to your advantage. In this evolutionary cycle, parts may be superseded by improved devices, which we recommend for new designs. We understand that sometimes this may be inconvenient for you; it is our policy to ease the transition to newer devices as best as possible. Hence we have created this Product Life Cycle Management section to provide you the most current information about product life issues.
The following parts are not recommended for new designs. Most parts are NOT discontinued but have been superceded by more functional and cost effective solutions. QRG will still supply most 'de-listed parts' but can make no guarantees as to how long these may be available. Minimum order quantity and lead times for these parts may increase over time due to volumes of purchase. Please see the table for details.
